Parking minimum removal

ADUs are exempt from parking mandates under certain conditions. The Parking Exempt Area, adopted December 10, 2024, exempts uses within a 1/2 mile of major transit stops.

Parking minimum reduction

Long Beach has reduced parking minimums for transit-oriented off street parking for residential and hospital use reducing parking from 25% to 50%. Long Beach eliminated mandates for businesses when there is a change of use in a building over ten years old in December 2024.
